Krishna's 21st: The  Birthday Weekend

10/20/2015

21st Birthday Weekend at Aquaventure, Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai
It was my 21st birthday last Tuesday, the 13th. And the day before that marks my third month here in Dubai. It's been a roller coaster ride, honestly. It's fun to meet & deal with people from different walks of life, work in an organisation whose cause I truly support and believe in, and travel to foreign places I've never been before. Yet it's still different experiencing all these nice and exciting things without my friends and family in Manila.
Nevertheless, I'm thankful to be here. I never really  imagined that I'll be working in Dubai, and now I feel like I'm exactly where I am supposed to be.

The past few months were full of blessings. And fair enough, I think it's high time to celebrate these & enjoy the long weekend.

Here's how my birthday weekend went extra special:

A Free Day at The Aquaventure Waterpark

Aquaventure Birthday Voucher
A free day at Aquaventure on my birthday? Oui, c'est possible!

Here's one of the many reasons why vouchers are everyone's friend.

Aquaventure is the no.1 waterpark in the Middle East and Europe; and I'm happy to get a free entrance on my birthday!

Went here yesterday with my aunts. Indeed, the best things in life are free.

Chill Ride at the Rapids

There's nothing like a chill day -- not worrying about anything & just enjoying the waters.

Apart from the rapids, we also took a ride at the big water slides, such as the Shark Attack and the Zoomerango at the Poseidon's Tower.

Experienced the Leap of Faith

Of course, the highlight of my Aquaventure experience -- the Leap of Faith!

Although not having my picture taken while I was actually at it was a downer! My aunts & I got so upset when we learned that their top-view cameras were actually not working.

Then again, it was an experience worth trying.

I have this fear of heights and doing this felt as if I was jumping off a building. I could hardly feel the incline on my back.

A leap of faith, indeed -- I simply closed my eyes, squealed for a brief moment, and the next thing I know I was already sliding through the aquarium below. Carpe diem!

Dinner at Saffron - Atlantis, The Palm

After a day at Aquaventure, we went straight to Saffron for our dinner reservation at 7pm.

Saffron is a South-East Asian  buffet restaurant at the Atlantis, The Palm - Dubai.
I wish I took more pictures, but I was more than excited to try everything out!

They offer different cuisines such as Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, and even Western.

I personally loved their Korean barbecue! Well I'm always into anything that is BBQ!

I also like their truffle mushroom soup, pasta primavera, lamb chops, kimchi, biryani rice, and many others. Perhaps it'll be too much if I mention everything.

Anyway, the bottom line is I definitely enjoyed the day  -- thanks to my aunts who made it really special! And of course, to God for constantly doing wonders for me.
