As an achiever, I tend to focus on the end-result more than the process. It didn’t matter to me to have a structured way of doing things. What’s important to me is that I deliver excellent work on-time. This probably worked for me as an individual contributor; but not as a manager.

Becoming a manager at age 24 was a dream come true for me. I’ve been praying and preparing for it for a couple of years so it was a big moment for me when I was finally given the opportunity. It was my 21st birthday last Tuesday, the 13th. And the day before that marks my third month here in Dubai. It's been a roller coaster ride, honestly. It's fun to meet & deal with people from different walks of life, work in an organisation whose cause I truly support and believe in, and travel to foreign places I've never been before. Yet it's still different experiencing all these nice and exciting things without my friends and family in Manila.
